Ibrox Noise was very interested in Rangers fans’ views of the potential signing of Josh Windass. Currently tearing it up in the Championship with Wrexham, so to speak, the former Rangers playmaker is on Rangers’ radar. It’s not just speculation. Inquiries have been made to Ryan Reynold’s outfit regarding the potential, curiously, loan of Rangers’ former number 10.

No Endorsement From Ibrox Noise

Would this be a signing that Ibrox Noise would endorse? To say the least, the answer is an emphatic no, and fans en masse have agreed entirely. After a recent poll confirmed an overwhelming rejection of such a signature. This player was deeply divisive back in the day. He was a player who split fans right down the middle. He was a player who had enough to say on social media and caused controversy constantly, dividing fans over his conduct and indeed his abilities, which in themselves weren’t all that great. Are Rangers signing Josh Windass?

Championship Form Means Nothing

Furthermore, delivering in the Championship means absolutely nothing. Look at Joe Rothwell. Leeds fans apparently fawned crazily over him, and Rangers fans went by those testimonies to praise this signing. And of course, as it has turned out, he has been rank rotten at Ibrox. Doing it in the Championship is meaningless. Rangers pressure is way beyond anything in the Championship and even beyond most clubs in the Premier League. When thus thriving in England’s second tier is not a CV to be proud of for joining Rangers.

Fan Verdict Is Clear

And fans en masse have agreed. An overwhelming majority in a recent Ibrox Noise poll said a resounding and emphatic no to bringing him home. It wasn’t even close. 71% rejection. Pure and utter no.

Why Is Rohl Interested?

The fact that Danny Rohl is genuinely interested in Windass is concerning. There is no denying that Rohl has managed to get some great results in the league. Rangers are stunningly back in the title race now, thanks to both Hearts and Celtic being absolutely woeful. All three top teams are hardly exactly shining at the moment, but Rangers are getting the wins under Rohl. But you would have to ask the question of why he wants players like Windass and indeed James Penrice.

Uninspiring January Moves

Basically, we are looking at a January window which isn’t exactly inspiring. And if Windass does return to Rangers, it will be a very, very strange message for the club, a very strange message for the fans and a very curious direction to go in. Rangers spent £5 million on Thelo Aasgaard. That signing was a disaster as Ibrox Noise warned. Rangers brought in Mikey Moore as a winger and he has been underwhelming even if recent form has been a little better. He has been shoehorned into the 10 position which really isn’t his best slot.

No Real Playmaker

Rangers don’t have a real proper playmaker, no number 10 at all, which is why we are looking at Windass. But that really would be a bit of a desperate solution and Rangers fans en masse have agreed.

Final Thought

Will we bring him back? It would genuinely ask questions of Rohl’s judgement if indeed Rangers are signing Josh Windass.
