Speculation continues over Anthony Gordon’s future, with latest reports suggesting he’d favour Arsenal over other interested clubs.

It seems Gordon could leave Newcastle United this summer, but there have been some mixed reports about where he’d ideally like to end up next.

One factor could be that the England international is keen to live in London, which makes Arsenal the favourites for the moment, according to the Sun.

Still, Gordon comes from a Liverpool-supporting family, according to the Telegraph, so that could be something else to keep an eye on.

Meanwhile, the Sun’s report also suggests that Bayern Munich could be appealing for the 25-year-old as it would give him the chance to link up with England teammate Harry Kane.

Anthony Gordon transfer timeline

  • October 25th 2025 – Liverpool are linked with Gordon as one of their top targets to replace Mohamed Salah by Football Insider.
  • February 14th 2026 – Our information is that Liverpool are frontrunners for Gordon, though Arsenal and Manchester City also hold an interest.
  • February 20th 2026 – Gordon himself is quoted by Goal as saying transfer speculation over his future is “rubbish”.
  • April 13th 2026 – Bayern Munich are the latest to be linked with Gordon by Florian Plettenberg.
  • April 16th 2026 – The Telegraph report that Gordon is open to leaving Newcastle, with Liverpool, Arsenal, and Bayern linked as suitors.

Arsenal could do with signing Anthony Gordon

Arsenal clearly have issues in attack at the moment, with Gabriel Martinelli only scoring one Premier League goal all season, while Leandro Trossard is yet to score for the Gunners in all competitions in 2026.

Gordon, meanwhile, has an impressive record of 17 goals and four assists in all competitions for Newcastle this season, so he could surely strengthen Mikel Arteta’s side.

£75m isn’t bad for a player of his calibre either, so we’d give this a 21/25 with our Transfer Fit rating system

Gordon is at a good stage of his career, in fine form, and proven in the Premier League in a position Arsenal need to strengthen, so if they really can get him for £75m that’s surely superb business.
