‘A f**king dream’ – Barcelona youngster desperate to join pre-season tour | OneFootball

An up-and-coming member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has this week made clear his desire to join the club’s first-team on their upcoming pre-season tour of Asia.

The player in question? Jan Virgili.

Youngster Virgili has seen his name take its place centre stage in the headlines across Spain over recent days.

This comes after a starring display on the part of the 18-year-old proved key in La Roja booking their spot in the semi-finals of the U19 European Championships.

Such efforts have not gone unnoticed on the part of those back in Barcelona, with Virgili expected to be called up by Hansi Flick for pre-season training on July 13th.

The ‘dream’ of the versatile attacker himself, though, is to join Flick’s star-studded squad on their upcoming tour of Asia.

Speaking during an interview with Jijantes, as cited by Diario Sport, this week, Virgili admitted:

“I wish I could go on the Asian tour, it would be a f**king dream. Seeing the importance that Hansi gives to the academy is nice.”

The highly-regarded youngster continued:

“The truth is that it motivates me a lot because the Barça of 2015 and all those eras, it was very difficult… almost impossible to climb and well, now it’s different. If you do well, the club gives you the opportunity and they trust you. Well, why not? You don’t lose anything by trying. We have to trust and keep pushing.”
