An amusing tidbit stemming from Tuesday night’s Madrid Derby has come to the fore online.

This comes after a former member of the defensive ranks at Real Madrid was overheard asking to be introduced to the fray in Spain’s capital.

Real and Atlético of course locked horns in the latest edition of the Madrid Derby yesterday evening.

When all was said and done, it was the former who emerged triumphant, owing to goals on the part of Rodrygo, and Brahim Díaz.

Amongst those watching on as his ex-club secured a vital first-leg advantage in the Champions League tie, meanwhile, was Marcelo.

The Blancos legend was spotted in attendance at the Santiago Bernabéu, cheering on Carlo Ancelotti’s troops from the crowd.

And at one point, Marcelo became so involved that he requested to be thrown into the action.

After spotting Real Madrid fitness coach Antonio Pintus, the Brazilian could be heard shouting: ‘Coach, sub me in!’
