La Liga giants Real Madrid look increasingly likely to land a headline member of the club’s transfer shortlist in the summer of 2026.
That’s according to Marca, who point towards Ibrahima Konaté as the player in question.
Stopper Konaté has of course long seen his name emerge as a prominent one in the Spanish media headlines.
This comes amid the widespread understanding that the Frenchman has been earmarked as a leading transfer target on the part of the aforementioned Real Madrid.
Amid an ongoing search for reinforcements at the back, Konaté is considered the ideal profile by Los Blancos.
As much comes in no small part owing to the fact that the 26-year-old’s Anfield contract is due to expire next summer.
And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from Spain early this week is anything to go by, then a 2nd free agent arrival at the Santiago Bernabéu from Liverpool in the space of just 12 months is beginning to look increasingly realistic.
As per a report from Marca:
‘Liverpool once again put forward a (contract) approach attempt, but the defender has rejected. At Anfield, they consider Konaté’s departure a sure thing.’
