Abdul Fatawu has thanked Leicester City supporters after sealing a permanent transfer to Ipswich Town.

Earlier this week he completed the switch to the newly promoted Premier League side, with Leicester agreeing an initial £20m fee and a further £3m in add-ons. The player said in a social media post that he was deeply grateful to everyone at the club.

Fatawu reflected that Leicester brought him to England, gave him the platform to prove himself and made him feel at home, adding that the trust and belief shown in him would always be appreciated.

He thanked team-mates, coaches and staff for helping him develop on and off the pitch, and praised the supporters for their passion and encouragement, saying those shared moments will remain among his best memories.

He said the club will always hold a special place in his heart, that he leaves with pride and gratitude, and he wished Leicester every success for the future, signing off with affection for the Foxes.

His departure adds to the exits Leicester have faced this summer following their relegation to League One.
