AC Milan Coach Hypes Up Serie A Derby Clash Vs Inter Milan: ‘One Of The Most Beloved Derbies In World Football’ | OneFootball

Sergio Conceicao feels that the clash between AC Milan and Inter Milan is “one of the most beloved derbies in the world.”

The Rossoneri coach gave his thoughts to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia ahead of tomorrow’s derby, via FCInterNews.

Conceicao has now been coach of Milan for a month.

The Portuguese tactician has certainly had his ups and downs since taking charge of the Rossoneri.

But the most memorable moment that Conceicao has had so far as Milan coach came very early on in his tenure.

In only his second match after joining the Rossoneri, Conceicao was in the dugout as Milan took on Inter Milan in the Supercoppa Italiana final.

The Nerazzurri, who had won the previous three editions of the competition, took a 2-0 lead shortly after halftime. Therefore, they seemed to be cruising to the win.

However, Milan showed all of their spirit under Conceicao. They came back to win the match 3-2 in a frenetic second half.

In that second half, there was a certain sense that Milan would not have been able to complete such a dramatic and improbable comeback in any other fixture.

But the derby is always a match that’s virtually impossible to predict.

The form book always seems to go out the window when Inter Milan and AC Milan face off.

Conceicao will have very positive memories of his first Milan derby as a coach. But he will know full well that the next one is going to be very tough.

The Milan coach noted that the derby “is one of the most watched and most beloved derbies in the world.”

“I’ve experienced many derbies, both abroad and in italy,” he continued.

“But this is the one that has the strongest images.”

“This will be my first derby at the San Siro with Milan,” Conceicao noted. The Supercoppa final had been in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

“I’m happy and I feel the responsibility.”

“I understand that Milan are not in a great moment,” Conceicao added. “But that has to give us strength.”
