A winter return to Spain appears to be on the horizon for Moroccan full-back Adam Aznou, as the promising defender seeks a path away from the frustrations of Merseyside. According to confirmed information from Africafoot, the young left-back is seriously considering a loan move in the upcoming January transfer window, with several Spanish clubs already expressing interest.
Despite his prestigious development at La Masia, Barcelona's famed academy, Aznou has found opportunities scarce since his arrival at Everton. Fierce competition for the left-back position has limited his playing time, creating a clear need for a temporary departure to reignite his progression.
The most likely destination seems to be Getafe CF, a club with which Aznou had already reached a personal agreement last summer. That potential move collapsed at the final moment due to a disagreement over an obligatory purchase clause, a twist of fate that ultimately paved the way for his switch to the English Premier League.
Everton's hierarchy, acknowledging the critical need for their young asset to gain consistent minutes, are now reportedly open to sanctioning a short-term loan. This would allow the highly-rated talent, who also had a stint at Bayern Munich, to continue his development in the more familiar surroundings of Spanish football. Having trained at Barcelona from 2020 to 2023, Aznou is still regarded as one of Moroccan football's brightest prospects, yet to fully establish himself at the highest level despite his glittering formative years.
