Adama Traoré sends warning to Lisandro Martinez after defeat against Manchester United | OneFootball

Adama Traoré has sent a message to Manchester United centre-back Lisandro Martinez following Fulham’s 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford on Friday night.

United started their Premier League campaign on a positive note, picking up all three points against Fulham courtesy of Joshua Zirkzee’s late winner on his debut.

However, the highlight of the game was the Red Devils’ resilient defensive performance, led by Martinez.

Early on, Traoré got the better of the Argentine by using his incredible pace and physicality before entering United’s box from the right-hand side.

But as the game progressed, the United defender tightened the grip and steadily pushed the Fulham winger out of the game.

One of his best moments against the ex-Wolverhampton Wanderers man came in the first half when he shrugged him off the ball with ease.

While reflecting on his battle with the electric forward during his post-match interview with Sky Sports, he said: “I sent him to the gym. I learned from the first one where he killed me, I killed him back.”

It appears Martinez’s cheeky comment did not go down too well with Traoré.

The Fulham star took to Instagram Story to share his thoughts on Martinez’s apparent dig, writing: “Don’t worry [winky face] we will meet again @lisandromartinezzz.”

Traoré will have to wait at least until next year to reignite his mini rivalry against Martinez in the league, as the reverse fixture is scheduled to be held in January.

The Argentina international, nicknamed ‘The Butcher’, is unlikely to back down from Traoré’s challenge.

During the same interview, Martinez also addressed Jamie Carragher’s criticism over his height, insisting he is a commanding defender who will “go with personality” in every duel.
