Adson should be available again for Vasco’s decisive Copa Sudamericana trip to Olimpia, aiming to cement his place before the World Cup pause.
According to Globo.com, the winger missed the journey to face Internacional for load management. The No 28 showed fatigue but scans found no injury, a call agreed by DESP, staff and player.
He has come through recent training well and is in contention for Defensores del Chaco, where a win would seal top spot in Group G with a game to spare.
Under Renato Gaúcho, Adson has gained prominence. He started against Olimpia at São Januário, scoring once and supplying two assists, then began the 1-0 win over Athletico-PR for his first Brasileirão start.
Vasco are managing his minutes cautiously given his injury history. He fractured his right tibia in July last year in training, in the same area previously broken, which kept him out from August 2024 to March 2025.
He underwent another surgery and only returned to action this year. His pace and direct running add depth to an attack still seeking consistency, with the right flank a particular concern for Renato.
Olimpia host Vasco on Wednesday at 19:00 Brasília time at Defensores del Chaco. Both sides have seven points in Group G, with Renato Gaúcho’s team ahead on the head-to-head tiebreaker.
