Foot Africa understands that Tanzanian giants Simba SC have opened talks to sign highly-rated Marumo Gallants midfielder Ibrahim Bance.

The 25-year-old joined Bahlabane Ba Ntwa from Ivorian champions Stade d'Abidjan where he worked with Alexandre Laffite, who was sacked by Gallants in March.

Bance established himself as a vital cog in the heart of midfield upon his arrival, racking up a total of 17 appearances across all competitions, with one goal in the process.

He can comfortably operate as an anchor man and as a central midfielder, having excelled in those positions throughout his career to date.

Now, sources have indicated that Simba have made contact with the player's entourage in a bid to understand the feasibility of a deal ahead of a potential move to East Africa.

Steve Barker is the driving force behind the move for the Burkina Faso international, as he looks to build a competitive squad for the CAF Champions League.

While Simba have emerged as early frontrunners for Bance's signature, they are expected to face stiff competition, with the player highly-sought after.

This publication has been led to believe that a host of Betway Premiership clubs, CS Sfaxien of Tunisia and Algeria's JS Kabylie are also monitoring Bance's situation.

Notably, Bance has only made two appearances since Gallants showed Lafitte the exit door, with the club still involved in a relegation scrap.
