Alex Meret’s agent, Federico Pastorello, confirms that the Napoli keeper is close to signing a contract extension with the club: ‘I would be surprised if we didn’t reach a positive conclusion to the deal.’
Meret’s contract at the Stadio Maradona expires in June, but talks between the parties over a new deal have been ongoing for weeks, if not months.

“Alex wants to stay,” the Italian goalkeeper’s agent, Pastorello, told Radio Sportiva (via Corriere dello Sport).
“He has said it publicly as well. Then, of course, there are negotiations and the interests of both parties, which must be respected.
“To be honest, we are very close. I would be surprised if we didn’t reach a positive conclusion to the deal,” continued Pastorello.
“Look at how Alex is doing. We are talking about a professional footballer who stays focused on the pitch. It’s up to us to work behind the scenes.”
Meret, 27, has kept 11 clean sheets in 21 Napoli games this season, conceding just 15 goals.
