Inter Milan defender Stefan de Vrij praised Marcus Thuram after last night’s Champions League win against Ajax.
Speaking to Ziggo Sport via FCInterNews, the Dutch center-back waxed lyrical about his famous teammate.
Marcus Thuram ran the show at the Johan Cruyff Stadium as Inter beat Ajax 2-0.
Indeed, the Frenchman bagged two headers on his way to winning a ‘Man of the Match’ award.
Furthermore, he offered a perfect response to recent criticism, maintaining his flying start to the season.
Thuram has already netted two braces in 2025/26.
Last night’s double helped Cristian Chivu claim a precious win on his touchline debut in the Champions League.
Meanwhile, the 44-year-old manager handed Stefan de Vrij his first start of the season.
Despite still waiting for his first season appearance in Serie A, the 33-year-old excelled yesterday.
His rock-solid performance saw Inter keep a clean sheet after conceding six goals in their last two outings.

De Vrij recognizes Thuram’s talent and quality. Therefore, he sang praise about the Frenchman in his post-match interview.
“He’s incredibly strong, a fantastic player,” the former Lazio defender said. “Look at how he controls the ball, how technical he is, and he also has great football intelligence.
“And now he can head the ball well, too.
“I asked him, ‘Where did you learn that?’
“He always said he wasn’t good at heading, but he’s improved a lot in this aspect. At first, he said headers weren’t his strength.”
Although Thuram’s individual brilliance stood out, Inter’s collective effort was commendable.
Indeed, every individual stepped up, contributing to a cohesive performance that was too hot for Ajax to handle.
Last night’s win could prove a turning point for the Nerazzurri.
