Saudi Arabian football is not only making waves by signing top players but also attracting high-profile coaches.

One notable figure among them is Matthias Jaissle, who currently manages Al Ahli. His presence has added excitement to recent transfer windows, and he seems poised to remain a key figure in the ones to come.

Jaissle has already experienced the buzz surrounding managerial changes. At one point, there were strong rumours linking Massimiliano Allegri to his role.

Despite that speculation, Jaissle has firmly established himself as the head coach of one of the Saudi Pro League’s top four clubs, Al Ahli.

Speaking on Vinicius’ links

During an interview with AS, the German coach was asked about recent speculation linking Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr. with a move to Al Ahli.

Although he smiled at the question, Jaissle avoided giving a direct answer. However, he acknowledged that as a coach, having the best players is always desirable.

“I don’t comment on rumours, but as a coach you want to have the best,” he said.

The interest in Vinicius Jr. isn’t mere speculation. One of Al Ahli’s directors admitted that there had been discussions about the player during the summer transfer window.

While Jaissle remained tight-lipped about whether there would be a renewed pursuit of the Brazilian star, he did acknowledge Vinicius as one of the world’s best players, a formidable threat to any defence.

“He is obviously one of the best players in the world right now. He’s a huge threat to any defence. As a coach, you like to have the best players in your team,” he added.

Saudi Arabian football continues to raise its profile by targeting elite players and coaches, with Jaissle leading the charge at Al Ahli. Whether or not Vinicius Jr. will be part of their future remains to be seen, but the ambition of clubs like Al Ahli is clear.
