Al-Hilal have set a fallback in motion as negotiations for France's Ousmane Dembélé encounter obstacles. Goal.com reports that Senegal’s Iliman Ndiaye has emerged as a leading alternative from the Premier League.
The player is open to a move to the Saudi league and preliminary talks have taken place between club representatives and his agents. Any deal remains at an early stage.
Dembélé had been the priority to reinforce the front line, but difficulties with his club and the cost involved have pushed the hierarchy to explore other options.
Sporting director Richard Hughes is driving efforts to assemble a strong, balanced squad this window, with preparations aimed at competing on all fronts.
Ndiaye has played 214 matches in all competitions, scoring 44 goals and supplying 23 assists, a total of 67 goal contributions.
While Dembélé remains the dream target for supporters, the club are operating on several fronts to secure a top-class winger before the summer window closes.
