Midfielder Kristjan Asllani has been praised for showing “personality” in yesterday’s Serie A clash between Torino and Inter Milan.
Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, hail the 22-year-old’s accomplished display in central midfield.
Kristjan Asllani got the start in midfield for Inter Milan against Torino yesterday.
This was the second match in a row that the former Empoli man had started for the Nerazzurri in Serie A.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has rotated his squad significantly around the two legs of the team’s Champions League semifinal tie against Barcelona.
Therefore, other midfielders like Hakan Calhanoglu and Nicolo Barella got some vital rest.

In the view of the Gazzetta, Inter hardly missed their more senior midfielders yesterday.
And Kristjan Asllani in particular was at the heart of this.
The Albanian was highly influential in the centre of the pitch.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi made a rare change in formation, with two rather than three central midfielders.
And Asllani functioned very well in this system.
The 22-year-old knew when to drop deeper, receive the ball, and start up a possession sequence.
But at the same time, Asllani was also able to get forward, where he was reasonably effective.
Asllani was decisive in his decision-making with the ball. And without it, the Albanian international was defensively solid.
Then, it was Asllani who stepped up to score from the penalty spot at the start of the second half.
This was the second week in a row in which the 22-year-old had done so. And against a goalkeeper as formidable at saving penalties as Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, it was hardly a given.
