Eintracht Frankfurt parted company with Albert Riera on Sunday, the day after the Bundesliga season ended. The Spaniard departs less than six months after his late-January appointment, having failed to clinch European qualification.
The club said in a statement that Riera took charge at a difficult moment and worked with diligence and commitment. After an open review of performances, it added, they intend to follow a different path next season.

Riera, 44, previously led Bordeaux in 2023-2024.
He was unable to turn Frankfurt’s league form around, leaving them in the same position as on arrival, eighth.
His record of four wins, five draws and five defeats brought an end to the club’s five-year run of European qualification.
