Alessandro Bastoni makes stance clear on Liverpool move | OneFootball

Liverpool have been linked with an interest in Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni. 

But the defender doesn’t desire a move to the Merseyside club. 

According to Mundo Deportivo, Bastoni will only leave Inter if Barcelona come calling for him. 

The 27-year-old has emerged as one of the best defenders in the world over the past few seasons. 

He helped his side clinch two Serie A titles and reach two Champions League finals. 

Bastoni has made 295 appearances across all competitions, scoring eight goals and creating 30 assists in the process. 

Missing out on the Italian would be a blow, but signing a new centre-back is not a top priority for Liverpool at the moment. 

Ibrahima Konate’s future at Anfield has been a source of speculation, with the Frenchman’s current deal expiring at the end of the season.  

But the 26-year-old recently admitted he is close to agreeing a new contract with Liverpool. 

Virgil van Dijk will turn 35 in July, but the Netherlands international has at least another season in him. 

The Reds also have Joe Gomez on their books, while they brought in Giovanni Leoni last summer. 

Liverpool are set to lose Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson, so replacing the two departing legends will be a priority. 

Meanwhile, they need to bring reinforcements in midfield too. 

Ryan Gravenberch has needed help in the number six role for some time, while there is uncertainty regarding the futures of Alexis Mac Allister and Curtis Jones at Anfield.
