Alexander Isak (25) is expected to remain at Newcastle United despite interest from Premier League rivals Liverpool and Saudi Arabia’s PIF-owned Al-Hilal, according to a report this Saturday from RMC Sport. The outlet reports that the Magpies were keen to bolster Eddie Howe’s options up front with Eintracht Frankfurt’s France U23 international centre-forward Hugo Ekitiké (23).

However, the former Reims and PSG striker has an agreement in place with Liverpool and has made it clear that he only wants to join Arne Slot’s Premier League-winning Reds. In their pursuit of a centre-forward, Newcastle United have shortlisted several profiles. The list reportedly includes PSG’s Randal Kolo Muani and Brentford’s Yoane Wissa. Despite the interest in Isak, the 25-year-old Swede is “expected” to remain on Tyneside.
