Davide Frattesi could end his year-and-a-half-year association with Inter Milan after reportedly filing a transfer request.
According to Alfredo Pedulla via FCInter1908, his exit would only happen next summer amid speculation he could be on his way out in January.
Frattesi has had to settle for a bit-part role in Simone Inzaghi’s system this season.
Indeed, he has been playing understudy to Nicolo Barella.
However, after only making four starts in Serie A, the 25-year-old has grown tired of being on the fringes.
Therefore, he’s eager to leave Giuseppe Meazza for regular first-team football elsewhere.
Despite Frattesi’s insistence on finding a new club, Inter won’t let him leave on favorable terms.
On the contrary, they’ll demand up to €50 million to sanction his departure.
Roma and Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as potential suitors for the ex-Sassuolo midfielder.
However, Inter won’t negotiate any swap deals.
Indeed, all interested parties will likely have to meet Beppe Marotta’s lofty requests to lure Frattesi away.
More importantly, Inter are reluctant to discuss his sale midway through the campaign.
That means he’ll only leave the club at the end of the season, provided someone matches his substantial price tag.
