Algeria - "I feel in the best shape of my career": Algerian international sends strong message to Petkovic
He is establishing himself as one of the driving forces behind Paris FC this season. At 27, Ilan Kebbal finally seems unleashed, showing a level of consistency and influence reminiscent of his finest days. With 9 decisive contributions in 11 Ligue 1 matches (goals and assists combined), the Algerian attacking midfielder is experiencing a genuine revival.
"I feel in the best shape of my career," Kebbal revealed in comments reported by Radio France Inter.
"Being able to play matches one after another helps me express my qualities better." A statement that perfectly sums up his resurgence.
Often criticized for inconsistency in the past, the Marseille native has seemingly found the ideal environment to shine at Paris FC. His coach, Stéphane Gilli, is full of praise for him:
"He’s a player with special qualities. The first impression can sometimes be deceiving, but he has real talent, and he still doesn’t realize the full extent of his abilities."
First called up by Petkovic for the Algerian national team during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Kebbal played a few minutes against Uganda (2-1). That debut could be the first of many. His current performances have clearly reignited the debate about his return to the Greens, especially as Vladimir Petkovic is still looking to strengthen his attacking options ahead of AFCON 2025.
If he keeps up this momentum, Ilan Kebbal could well become one of the revelations of the season—and, above all, a major creative asset for the future of Algerian football.
