Allan accepts Corinthians fans’ criticism after 2-0 defeat to Coritiba | OneFootball

Corinthians midfielder Allan said he understood the fans’ anger after the 2-0 home defeat to Coritiba at Neo Química Arena on Wednesday, in the fifth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.

According to Globo.com, the starter accepted that representing Corinthians brings constant scrutiny, adding that anyone unwilling to face criticism would have to go far away, mentioning places such as Arabia and Dubai. He also felt the fans did their part, saying the stadium looked beautiful and the team had wanted to deliver a positive result.

Supporters in Itaquera protested immediately after the final whistle, calling for greater commitment and for the shirt to be honoured, while rejecting those they viewed as not pulling their weight.

Dorival Júnior’s side are winless in four, with two draws and two defeats, and recent performances have dipped. They missed the chance to draw level with the leaders and, on seven points, have fallen to eighth.

Corinthians visit Santos at Vila Belmiro on Sunday at 16:00, Brasília time, in the sixth round of the competition.
