The 28-year-old arrived in São Paulo late on Tuesday morning to complete a loan from Flamengo to Corinthians until the end of 2026, and said he is ready to contribute, subject to medicals.

"If the tests go well, I am ready. I came to play and help. If Dorival needs me, I am available, it is my dream to play for Corinthians," he told Central do Timão at Guarulhos airport.

The agreement has no loan fee to the club, and Corinthians will cover his full wages. It includes a purchase option, with no fixed figure disclosed.

He is due at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava on Tuesday for medical tests before any official unveiling.

Corinthians explored a deal in early January, talks paused then resumed at the weekend. "I was anxious, it took a little time. Dorival was fundamental, he showed he wanted me in the project," he said.

The move addresses a midfield need after Maycon’s exit at the end of 2025. A January pursuit of Alisson of São Paulo collapsed over finances. Vasco da Gama and Santos had also shown interest, and the situation was worsened by José Martínez’s serious injury.

Corinthians are also close to re-signing left-back Fabrizio Angileri and are advancing for Moroccan midfielder Zakaria Labyad. An agreement is in place for goalkeeper João Ricardo of Fortaleza, pending medical approval. Confirmed arrivals are centre-back Gabriel Paulista, full-back Pedro Milans, midfielder Matheus Pereira and forward Kaio César, with the market open until March.
