Benfica right-back Amar Dedic has picked up a muscle injury ahead of the meeting with Qatar and could miss the remainder of the World Cup.

According to Arena Sport, head coach Sergej Barbarez described it as a minor issue at the front of Dedic’s thigh and said they hope he will be fine, noting that missing one or two sessions is normal.

Dedic sat out Bosnia and Herzegovina’s final training in Salt Lake City on Tuesday. Despite the scare, he travelled with the squad to Seattle.

Bosnia and Qatar each have one point in Group B after a defeat by Switzerland and a draw with Canada. Switzerland and Canada lead on four points.

It is not the first time Dedic has been injured while on international duty.

For Benfica in 2025/26 he made 43 competitive appearances, 24 in the league, 14 in the Champions League, three in the Taça de Portugal, one in the Taça da Liga and one in the Supertaça. He played 3,511 minutes, scoring one goal and providing four assists. He is valued at 16 million euros.
