Manchester United are supposedly in advanced negotiations to sign Bryan Mbeumo, but it could all change in an instant depending on the latest developments.
INEOS identified the Cameroonian as their second attacking reinforcement after Matheus Cunha.
While Brentford turned down an initial offer worth £55 million, Fabrizio Romano believes the two clubs should eventually reach a compromise in the region of £60-65 million that would see Mbeumo move to Old Trafford.
The Italian journalist also revealed that Mbeumo turned down offers from Arsenal and Newcastle United, as he only has eyes for Man Utd.
However, The Mirror believes that Red Devils have yet to reach the finish line, which could leave an opening for a reunion in North London.
As the source explains, Brentford manager Thomas Frank has emerged as the favourite to take over at Tottenham following the surprise sacking of Ange Postecoglou.
The report adds that the 51-year-old has specifically asked Spurs to enter the race for Mbeumo as one of his main requests.
The Mirror claims that the Europa League winners are ready to offer the 25-year-old winger a salary of £130,000-a-week, but it would fall short of United’s offer of £150,000-a-week with add-ons taking the package up to £200,000-a-week.
But while their financial offer isn’t as lucrative, Tottenham would be able to provide Mbeumo the opportunity to feature in the Champions League next season, in addition to a reunion with Frank who played an instrumental part in the winger’s rise to stardom.

Man United officials might feel confident after making large strides in their negotiations with both Mbeumo and Brentford, but they must remain attentive, as Spurs could suddenly steal a march on them.
Ruben Amorim’s attacking plans are beginning to take shape, as he’s hoping to field Cunha and Mbeumo behind a new top-notch striker who would arrive to replace Rasmus Hojlund, as the latter appears to be close to Inter Milan.
