Amorim makes Hojbjerg request to Milan but sales required first | OneFootball

Reports in Italy claim that Milan head coach Ruben Amorim has made a specific request for the club to sign Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Olympique de Marseille this summer, but the Rossoneri must first shift a number of unwanted players before bringing in any new midfield reinforcements.

Amorim wants Hojbjerg at Milan but must sell first

Milan, under a new leadership structure this summer, have set a new club record with their signing of Goncalo Ramos, and have also made a significant investment on the signing of centre-back Mario Gila from Lazio.

Amorim, however, is hoping to completely transform Milan’s style of play this summer and is hoping to build a possession-dominant side that with high intensity, high pressing and the ability to win the ball back high up the pitch. That is basically the opposite of what fans had grown accustomed to under the defensive philosophy of Massimiliano Allegri.

To have a team capable of playing the way he wants, Amorim is still targeting a handful of new signings, and according to reports from Calciomercato.com, Marseille’s Hojbjerg is a top target for the Rossoneri.

Wednesday’s report claims that Amorim has made a specific request for Milan to sign the midfielder this summer.

However, this first requires a number of current Milan players to be moved on first. The midfield department is already fairly well stocked with Luka Modric, Adrien Rabiot, Youssouf Fofana, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Yunus Musah, Samuele Ricci, Ardon Jashari, Warren Bondo and promising teenager Christian Comotto.

Calciomercato suggests that Milan need to shift two of their current midfielders before bringing in any new options in the middle of the park. As things stand, Ricci and Fofana are reportedly the most likely to be sold.
