Celtic FC Women’s side will be looking to continue their strong start to the season this Sunday when they take on Rangers at New Douglas Park.

Elena Sadiku’s side have taken three wins from three matches so far this season, scoring 14 goals across those three fixtures.

Amy Gallacher, scorer of Celtic’s league-winning goal at the end of the 23/24 season, is back amongst the goals so far this season, with the No. 7 grabbing a brace in the 7-0 win over Partick Thistle in the Hoops' last outing.

As well as her form leading the line, Gallacher has also been tasked with being a leader within the squad, with Elena Sadiku naming her as part of the Hoops’ newly-formed captaincy group.

And speaking ahead of this weekend’s Glasgow derby, Gallacher was full of positivity about the start of the season and her new role in the dressing room.

“Collectively we’ve had a good start.” Gallacher said. “It was a big win against Hearts and then two good performances with a lot of goals so, as a team, it’s been good.

“Personally, I’m just happy that the teams doing well because we needed a good start.

‘Everything seems to be clicking just now. We’re creating a lot of chances and scoring a lot of goals, and we want to continue that on Sunday.'

“Myself and Elena had a few chats last year and this year and she sees me as leader.

“I’m enjoying the role and I want to lead by example with my performances on the pitch and being a good team-mate.”

With a run of form going in to the match, Celtic will be looking to bag another three points at home this Sunday and Amy Gallacher says that she and her team-mates will be treating it like any other game.

She added: “As a player, you try not to think about the magnitude of the game.

“It’s a Glasgow derby and you really want to win but as a collective we’re full of confidence just now in the way we’re playing and the way we’re performing.

“We need to take that positivity in to the game and treat it like any other game and we’ll see what happens.

“There is always added pressure in a game like this but you have to treat it like any other game.”
