Ancelotti attends Mirassol v Santos ahead of March friendlies squad announcement

Carlo Ancelotti attended Mirassol v Santos at the Maião on Tuesday, watching players as he finalises his March friendlies squad.

According to Globo.com, he arrived about 20 minutes before kick-off, declined interviews, and went straight to one of the reserved boxes. He was greeted by Mirassol president Edson Ermenegildo, football executive Paulinho, and women’s team coach Carine Bosetti.

He had confirmed his attendance before the announcement that Neymar would not be involved due to muscle fatigue. Despite the absence of Santos’s number 10, who remains on the preliminary list for the fixtures, the CBF kept the plan.

The 26-player squad announcement is scheduled for next Monday in Rio de Janeiro.

Brazil face France on 26 this month in Boston, then Croatia on 31 in Orlando.
