Ancelotti ‘to name’ Léo Pereira in Brazil preliminary list | OneFootball

Carlo Ancelotti is preparing to select his Brazil squad for late-March friendlies against France and Croatia, and Flamengo defender Léo Pereira has been included on the preliminary list, GE reports.

Brazil’s defence remains unsettled, with Éder Militão recovering from a serious left thigh injury and Alexsandro, of Lille, struggling for form. In that context, Pereira has been gaining recognition under Ancelotti.

Pereira has been a mainstay for Flamengo in recent seasons but is yet to receive a senior call-up. In November 2025 he admitted frustration at not having represented Brazil.

The official squad announcement is scheduled for Monday 16 March in Rio de Janeiro. Pereira now awaits the chance of a first cap.

Brazil face France on 26 March at Gillete Stadium in Boston, then meet Croatia on 31 March at Camping World Stadium in Orlando.
