Cameroon international goalkeeper Andre Onana is ready to fight to re-establish himself as Manchester United’s first-choice next season, according to the Guardian.

The 29-year-old is currently on loan in the Turkish Super Lig with Trabzonspor, and is due to report for pre-season training at Man United afterwards.

Onana believes he will be given a chance to reclaim his spot after former Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim brought Senne Lammens to the club last summer as his replacement.

The 23-year-old Belgian has hit the ground running since joining Man United, establishing himself as the number one following some impressive performances.

Lammens proved again on Monday why the Red Devils signed him from Royal Antwerp for £18 million last summer.

He kept a clean sheet to help Man United secure a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Everton, with his saves proving crucial in the end.

Onana faces a struggle to reclaim his spot as his time at Trabzonspor is not going well.

His loan deal will not be made permanent, and he is likely to leave United again on loan or permanently.

The Cameroonian joined Man United from Inter Milan in July 2023 on a five-year contract for an initial £44.1m, and his first two campaigns were disastrous to say the least.

Man United started the 2025-26 Premier League campaign with Altay Bayindir in goal, but Lammens has since taken over.

He has kept five clean sheets in 21 Premier League appearances, and he is one of the reasons the Red Devils are challenging for a top-four finish.

It is only his second campaign as a number one, and he has covered himself in glory with some fine performances.
