"Mourinho taught me a lot, and sometimes we exchange messages, even though he is coaching Benfica, a club with a strong rivalry with Porto," said Porto president André Villas Boas. He told Gazzeta dello Sport.

"I was younger... My time at Inter was a fine experience, which I recall with pleasure."

The remarks underline José Mourinho’s influence on Portuguese and international football, and on Villas Boas’s own path in management.

In a separate recent interview with Marca, Villas Boas was confronted with the prospect of Mourinho coaching Porto and made a revelation about the Benfica manager.
