Angers SCO ended their unfortunate record as the last Ligue 1 team without a victory with a 4-2 defeat of AS Saint-Étienne last weekend which creates a nice bit of symmetry with their opponents, AS Monaco, who fell to their first defeat of the campaign last Sunday.
Alexandre Dujeux had called for his side to demonstrate more spirit and after three consecutive defeats to start the season, Angers have become a tougher challenge to break down losing only once more and collecting four draws including against Olympique de Marseille and RC Strasbourg Alsace.
Dujeux will make no changes from the side that beat Saint-Étienne and will be hopeful that Ibrahima Niane’s purple patch of two goals in two games (after going the entire of the 2023/24 campaign without finding the net) will continue once more against Adi Hütter’s budding title challengers.
