Spanish media have hailed Benfica teenager Anísio Cabral after an eye-catching senior debut in a 4-0 win over Estrela da Amadora.
As reports that José Mourinho was presenting a diamond to the world, noting Cabral won the Silver Boot at the U17 World Cup and had awaited a first-team chance.
Mourinho introduced the striker on 83 minutes and he scored on 84 with his first touch, a header, as Benfica already had the game under control.
Mourinho later made clear the finish surprised neither him nor the first-team group, and that those who have followed Cabral in recent months expected it.
Cabral is under contract at Benfica until the summer of 2027. This season he has 16 competitive appearances, one in the Campeonato Nacional, 10 in the Campeonato Sub-19, three in the Liga Revelação and two in the UEFA Youth League, with five goals across 1,061 minutes.
