Following that news, Pep Guardiola declared that Ederson and Stefan Ortega were set to remain at Manchester City for next season.

Pep Guardiola’s declaration appeared to put to bed any doubts that surrounded Ederson’s future. Now the Brazilian international has spoken on his future and he has revealed that he will remain at the Etihad for next season.

Ederson is committed to Manchester City for next season.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Ederson has spoken of his commitment to Manchester City for next season. When asked about his future, Ederson said: “My future is here. Some friends send me a lot of news but 99 per cent is fake news. I understand but there’s a lot of fake news around my name. My head is staying at the club. It stays with the City. It gives me everything to go back to the Premier League again and try to win the Champions League as well.”

Ederson’s future is now resolved.

Manchester City can now enter the 25/26 season with clarity on Ederson’s future. The Brazilian international will enter next season as City’s number-one keeper. Ederson’s decision and statement mean that City won’t have to enter the transfer market to find a new goalkeeper.
