Antoine Griezmann taunts Barcelona after Atlético Madrid reach Copa del Rey final

Antoine Griezmann marked Atlético Madrid’s Copa del Rey semi-final success over Barcelona with a pointed Instagram post on Tuesday night.

Atlético advanced after a 4-0 first leg and a 0-3 reverse in the return. The player said in a post that he asked if the image he shared was too harsh.

The photo showed Griezmann smiling, with two Barcelona players lying on the turf in the background after the final whistle.

The message echoed a barb from last season. On 16 March 2025 in La Liga at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, Hansi Flick’s side came from two down to win 4-2.

Barcelona then posted on X a celebratory shot with a dejected Griezmann in the foreground, accompanied by a line suggesting the picture was too harsh. This time, the roles were reversed and the number seven returned the favour.
