Leeds United midfielder Anton Stach has pledged to push for a swift return after suffering an injury in Sunday’s 1-0 home win over Brighton.

The player said in a post that he aims to be back as soon as possible and thanked supporters, sharing a tongue-in-cheek edited image with hands for feet and boots on his hands.

Stach went down in the 74th minute following an awkward landing from an aerial challenge with Carlos Baleba. In clear discomfort, he was treated on the pitch, then briefly tried to continue after speaking with Daniel Farke.

He even took a corner before collapsing again, receiving further treatment and leaving on a stretcher with his shirt over his head and blood visible through his sock at ankle level. He was replaced by Joel Piroe, and Leeds later won it through an added-time Dominic Calvert-Lewin strike.

The 27-year-old is a major doubt for Sunday’s Premier League final day at West Ham and is unlikely to be risked with Leeds safe. He also hopes to make Germany’s World Cup squad, with selections already being announced for next month’s tournament across the USA, Canada and Mexico.
