Sevilla’s summer rebuild under Antonio Cordón is gathering pace, with ABC de Sevilla reporting an agreement is in place for Le Havre captain Arouna Sangante to join on a free next season.

The club’s plan targets young talent and low-cost openings. The standout move to date is Patrick Mercado from Independiente del Valle for around six million euros after seeing off Chelsea, a signing viewed as strategic with strong resale potential.

Further additions are progressing. Right-back Juan Iglesias, whose Getafe contract is expiring, is described as very advanced to arrive on a free this summer. Interest is growing in Romania international Marius Marin at Pisa, who is said to have turned down a renewal, making the 27-year-old a summer opportunity.

Sangante, 23, is a 1.89 m centre-back, dominant in the air and strong one against one. He reads play well, anticipates interceptions and advances possession with clarity. He can also cover at right-back, though he prefers the middle.

Born in Mbao, Senegal, he came through Cosmos Saint-Denis and Red Star before joining Le Havre’s academy in 2017. He debuted in Ligue 2, helped secure promotion in 2022-2023, and has since been a regular starter and captain in Ligue 1. Considered by Senegal’s senior side without debuting, his deal expires in June 2026, leaving him a highly attractive free agent.
