Simon Mignolet makes will return to Villa Park to make his first appearance at the ground in nine years. His Club Brugge side face an uphill task against Aston Villa, but the 37-year-old isn’t giving up hope. As reported by Het Nieuwsblad, the former Liverpool and Sunderland man said ‘I speak from experience: in two games, anything is possible in this tournament’.

If the defending Belgian champions can turn the tie around, it will certainly go down in the clubs history as one of the best European nights in recent memory. However, they need to score at least two goals at Villa Park to take the game to extra-time. They certainly created chances during the home leg, but Aston Villa had the extra quality that makes the difference in a competition like the Champions League.

Club will need to replicate the performance they put together against Atalanta in Bergamo during the last round of the tournament. They swept the Italian side away in the first half and took control of the tie. It will be a tougher ask in England this time around, as they are not holding a lead like they did prior to the second leg against Atalanta. Nothing is impossible in football, and while Mignolet and the rest of the team have belief, there is still hope.
