Huge chance for Switzerland as somehow Dan Ndoye ended up all alone in front of Emi Martínez, but a heroic last-ditch tackle from Lisandro Martínez broke up the play. The flag did go up for offside after the fact, but the goal may have stood if it he had found the back of the net.
We are back underway in the second-half from Kansas City.
Talk about efficient...
HALF-TIME ARGENTINA 1-0 SWITZERLAND
The champions have a slender lead at the break thanks to Alexis Mac Allister's goal in the opening 15 minutes.
All to play for in the second-half!
Wasted free-kick from the Swiss as they had a look from a severe angle on the edge of the box. The attempt from Remo Freuler was sent well wide of the target. Massive let-off for Argentina.
Switzerland just do not seem to have any answer for Argentina sitting back and gifting them the ball. The possession has been pretty sterile.
Another record for the great man!
We've reached the first hydration break in this first-half. Argentina now have something to hold, making it even more difficult for Switzerland to find a way through.
We're already in dangerous territory for the Swiss as they push bodies up the pitch in an effort to the find a route back into the game. Argentina will be licking their lips at the chance to hit on the break.
GOAL ARGENTINA!
After a few corners in succession, Argentina have broken the deadlock through Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister! The ball whipped in by Lionel Messi somehow found the head of the midfielder in a crowded box.

Can Kane make it 3-1 and put the result out of sight?

It's Bellingham again!
He reacts quickest to tap home a close-range rebound after England applied pressure since the restart.
He's inevitable!

That was dealt with comfortably this time.

KICK-OFF
And we're underway in Miami as Norway look to upset England, while the Three Lions remain hopeful of pushing toward a second World Cup win.
For stats across the match, see below courtesy of our friends at Opta!
We're now minutes away from kick-off in Miami.
Time for walk-outs, anthems, and then we're off and running!
The last time these two sides faced each other, Wayne Rooney was the only goalscorer on the night.
No doubt England fans would take a 1-0 (Kane) this evening in Miami.
Was Haaland's rise to true global stardom this summer simply a matter of time?
Just ask Ilkay Gündoğan.
In what should be a tense battle in Miami, these key players for England are on the bubble to miss the semi-final due to card trouble.
It's a special night for England stalwart Jordan Pickford, who becomes the most-capped player (18) for his country at the World Cup.
He's now one ahead of legendary goalkeeper Peter Shilton and Three Lions teammate Harry Kane.
🚨 AND HERE ARE YOUR STARTING XIs
Before the XIs are made official, it wouldn't be a matchday featuring Norway without, yep, another look at fans in action on South Beach.
Contrary to a couple of grumblings, it is, in fact, historically accurate to depict 🤓
For additional tactical reading in the run-up, this is solid stuff.
With the thought of a shootout looming, and England's historic struggles should it come to that, Opta takes a look at how Harry Kane should set the Three Lions up.
As for Norway, Erling Haaland has received so much praise this summer, and rightfully so, but it would be impossible to overlook captain Martin Ødegaard, who has been sublime in the wake of a 2025/26 season with Arsenal.
Ødegaard received plenty of criticism from fans and pundits, despite leading the club to the promised land for the first time in over two decades. This summer, however, he has been at his very best and will be itching to push Norway into the semi-finals.
For England this evening, it's another moment where the Three Lions will contend with excercising demons as they look to end their 60-year wait to lift a second World Cup.
Their record in the quarter-finals certainly does not make for decent reading.
And, as expected, it's going to be a hot one. Let's hope the sweltering conditions are the only weather we'll have to contend with.
Traveling fans are no doubt looking forward to this one, with Erling Haaland, Harry Kane, and a host of other Premier League-based (and beyond) stars coming together in South Florida.
Welcome to our coverage of the highly anticipated meeting between Norway and England in Miami ahead of Lionel Messi and Argentina locking horns with Switzerland later this evening!
Stick with us across the rest of the night, and as always, let us know how you're feeling in the comments!
