Jhon Arias arrived in Brazil on Friday and posed in a Palmeiras shirt during a photo shoot at Guarulhos airport. According to Globo.com, the Colombian will be unveiled at 15:00 Brasília time, with live coverage on ge.

Announced last Saturday as the club’s headline signing of this window, the attacking midfielder asked for a few days to finalise his move.

A long-term target, Arias becomes Palmeiras’ second most expensive signing, costing 25 million euros, R$ 154 million, on a four-season deal to the end of 2029.

Palmeiras have registered him for the Campeonato Paulista and the Brasileirão. Despite his recent spell with Wolverhampton in England, the timeframe for a debut on Sunday against Guarani is very short.

He has been playing regularly this season, making 26 appearances with two goals and one assist. His most recent outing was on 31 January against Bournemouth, so fitness should not be an issue.

Arias’ best years in Brazil came at Fluminense. He posted 16 goals and 17 assists in 2022, 12 and 17 in 2023, and 14 and eight in 2024. In 2025 he left mid-year after four goals and 13 assists.
