Liverpool's 3-1 victory against Wolves on Friday evening was well-needed.

Most of the Reds' fanbase expected the Anfield outfit to easily beat Rob Edwards' men in both of their recent games but that clearly wasn't the case.

A lot of fans blamed this defeat on Arne Slot for starting the same players each week but Friday showed that even the Dutchman can divert from his usual gameplan if needed.

The FA Cup obviously isn't the Reds' main priority this season but, with how unlikely it is for them to win the Champions League this season, it could be the only piece of silverware that Liverpool can get their hands on.

Despite this, Slot still chose to start other players than his usual starting XI and he even made a couple of adjustments that proved fans wrong.

Arne Slot played three teenagers by full-time against Wolves on Friday

One of the main complaints that fans have had with Slot this season is the lack of trust he has shown in certain players.

Federico Chiesa and Rio Ngumoha are the two best examples of this as, even though the Reds' attack has been miles off the pace, the aforementioned duo have hardly been given a chance to prove their worth.

However, that seemed to change on Friday as, by the end of the game, Liverpool had played three teenagers.

And, to make things even sweeter, Ngumoha was actually allowed to start the game rather than come on for a 20-minute cameo.

The other teenagers who were brought on by Slot were Kieran Morrison and Trey Nyoni, both of which seem to have an extremely bright future ahead of them.

Although Slot's way of handling youngsters is completely different to the way that Jurgen Klopp handled them, the fact that Slot has proven that he's willing to give them a run out from time to time has helped prove the assumptions of some fans wrong.

Arne Slot's way of handling youngsters could actually be better than Jurgen Klopp's way

Although fans have been left rather frustrated by the lack of form shown by their team this season, it's clear that Slot isn't going anywhere.

Indeed, there are a couple of options on the market at the moment that will be enticing to Liverpool such as Xabi Alonso but, on the face of things, Slot might be the best man for the job.

Ever since he was made Liverpool's manager, he's always had the best interests of his team in mind which is why most youngsters haven't been given a chance to play as much as they would've wanted.

However, due to the amount of progress that Ngumoha has made, he was given a chance to prove his worth and showcased why he should be featuring in Slot's plans more.

But, the fact that they aren't being overplayed and overworked while they're so young is massively helpful for their development,

Since 17-21 year olds are still growing, too much exertion can damage their bodies for life with Stefan Bajcetic the best example of this.

Of course, fans will want their voices to be heard and their concerns to be aired but, in reality, the way that Slot is handling things at the moment seems like the best possible outcome for all parties, even if it does mean that Liverpool are struggling a little.
