An 8.15pm pm kick-off, as Newcastle United face the league leaders.

Liverpool having now gone 11 points clear, thanks to the win at Man City and Arsenal losing at home to West Ham.

Arne Slot Newcastle United press conference – 25 February 2025:

“Newcastle can score a lot of goals.

“They have so much offensive threat.

“Normally they are not a team that concedes many, with very aggressive defending.

“They kept Arsenal away from their goal [clean sheets in all three NUFC games against Arsenal), similar to what we did at [Man] City.”

Arne Slot on Alexander Isak:

“It is an understatement to say Isak is in fine form.

“He is in excellent form!

“Our team performance will help control him.

“The more ball possession that we have, the more we can control him, although he is dangerous on counter-attacks.

“We have two very good centre-backs, which is what you need when you face the quality of Alexander Isak.

“I like the style of play Eddie Howe has introduced, a team that has a very good game plan.

“Very intense with or without the ball.

“Isak of course isn’t the only offensive threat they have, Gordon is also a big threat [for example].”

Arne Slot on the title race and trying to keep focus, avoid complacency having gone 11 points clear:

“I don’t think I need to even enforce this message.

“The players played the Forest home game, the Fulham home game, the [Man] United game at home and Newcastle away, which was a very difficult game for us.

“These players are so long in this Premier League competition, much longer than me, they know how tough it is.”

Arne Slot on coping with busy/tough schedule:

“The players have shown many times they can cope with many games.

“But this was the reason I changed the team against Plymouth so drastically.

“That hurt us in the FA Cup but it also means that these players are now able to play five games in a row at their best level.”

Arne Slot on fitness/availability, confirming that as well as Joe Gomez, Conor Bradley will miss the Newcastle match, though he expects Alexis Mac Allister to be available:
