PSG are reportedly keeping a close eye on Ibrahima Konaté—but they aren’t alone. Real Madrid are also said to be interested in the Liverpool center-back, whose contract runs through 2026. With the summer transfer window nearing, speculation around Konaté’s future is picking up.
Milan Skriniar, currently on loan at Fenerbahçe, is expected to leave PSG for good this summer. That’s pushed the club to start exploring options to bolster their defense. While nothing is close, PSG appear to be planning ahead for a post-Skriniar backline.
Their interest in Konaté isn’t new. Back in February, Anfield Watch reported that PSG had been tracking the Paris-born defender, adding to talk of a possible return home. After coming through the youth ranks at Paris FC and making a name for himself at RB Leipzig, Konaté is believed to be high on PSG’s list of defensive targets.

Defensa Central reports that Liverpool manager Arne Slot has asked the club to pursue Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi if Konaté joins Real Madrid. Guehi, like Konaté, is under contract until June 2026 and is reportedly not planning to renew.
He would be open to a move to Anfield, and Liverpool would use the fee from Konaté’s potential sale to fund the deal. Real Madrid view Konaté as a key addition to strengthen their defense for the 2025-2026 season.
Diario AS recently reported that Real Madrid are open to signing Konaté this summer, but only if Liverpool lowers their asking price. The Spanish giants are prepared to pay between €20 million and €25 million, while Liverpool are holding out for at least €50 million.
Real Madrid aren’t planning to meet that figure, especially since Konaté has already decided he wants to join them. The club is content to wait until 2026, when they can sign him on a free transfer.
As previously reported by Foot Mercato, Konaté has already been offered to several top teams, including Real Madrid, PSG, and Barcelona, laying the groundwork for a possible 2026 departure.
