Arrascaeta, Varela e Léo Pereira rested for Bragantino v Flamengo

Arrascaeta, Varela and Léo Pereira have been left out of Flamengo’s trip to Red Bull Bragantino on Thursday at 21:30 Brasília time in Bragança Paulista, Globo.com reports.

The trio returned from national-team duty showing significant fatigue and physical wear. They travelled with the squad, were re-evaluated on Thursday morning, and will return to Rio de Janeiro before the match.

Physiological testing confirmed high fatigue levels after the FIFA window, so the three will not be named in the matchday squad.

Gonzalo Plata is included in Flamengo’s travelling party. The Ecuadorian was not selected for the game against Corinthians before the international break.

That earlier omission was explained as day-to-day issues.
