Arsenal and Barcelona interested in Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Brandt – who is out of contract in the summer | OneFootball

Sky Germany reports that Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Brandt is attracting interest from abroad when it comes to the next step of his career. 

On Saturday, following their 2-1 win against 1.FC Köln, it was confirmed that Brandt will not extend his contract at the club, which expires in the summer. 

The 29-year-old is interested in moving abroad, and moving to Spain, Italy and England appeals to him. The attacking midfielder, whose girlfriend is from Catalonia, has been learning Spanish, and Barcelona are monitoring the situation, as are Arsenal. However, at both clubs, Brandt is likely to have a role similar to the one he has at Dortmund right now.

Who could replace Brandt at Dortmund?

Dortmund are already looking for the 29-year-old’s replacement, and their aim is a forward who is versatile and can play as both a 10 and on the wings.

One name that has been mentioned once again at Brackel is Jadon Sancho.

The 25-year-old will be available on a free transfer in the summer, and is willing to take a paycut. However, there are doubts surrounding a third spell at the club due to his form and whether he could work under head coach Niko Kovac
