Arsenal equalled a 122-year club record after beating Slavia Prague 3-0 in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Mikel Arteta’s side maintained their 100% record in this season’s competition after a comfortable win over the Czech champions.
Bukayo Saka opened the scoring from the penalty spot for the Gunners, before auxiliary forward Mikel Merino netted a brace.
A memorable night for Arsenal was capped by a competition debut for Max Dowman, as the teenager became the youngest player in Champions League history.
Arsenal look formidable right now with the Gunners securing another clean sheet in the Premier League at the weekend. Mikel Arteta’s side have not conceded a goal in any competition since September 28th, a run of seven straight shut-outs.
Arsenal also equalled a long-standing club record, dating back to 1903. The win saw the North London side secure an eight consecutive clean sheet in all competitions, a sequence that had not been achieved for 122 years. The last goal that Arsenal conceded came at Newcastle in late September.
It’s also a joint-record for an English top-flight team, Preston North End in 1889 and Liverpool in 1920.
