There have been mixed updates on Kai Havertz in recent weeks, with some reporting that he’s pushing to be back before the end of 2025, whilst others claim he’s targeting the matches in early-to-mid January.
Either way, the player is clearly meant to be in the final stages of recovery from an injury that’s now lasted over four months.
Monday provided another hint of Havertz’s progress, with the player pictured out on the London Colney training pitches alongside Viktor Gyokeres. This is the first time he’s been seen in training outdoors, though it’s unclear whether he was fully involved in the session.

Havertz has been out injured since the first game of the season, playing just 30 minutes against Manchester United before suffering a knee injury that has seen him sidelined ever since.
The striker ideally would have returned to full fitness already, but Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann revealed last month that he’d “had a minor relapse on his injury”.
That ruled the player out for another month, but Mikel Arteta confirmed last week that “he’s progressing really well and quite fast…we are really positive that if everything continues like that in the next training sessions, he’s going to be with us soon”.

Havertz was Arsenal’s first-choice striker last season, scoring 15 goals and assisting five despite missing over three months with a hamstring injury.
The German will return with competition for starts in his position, given both Gabriel Jesus and Gyokeres are now fit too. But he has a great chance of reclaiming his first-choice role if he can recapture his 2024/25 form.
