Gunners are unbeaten in Europe so far
Gary Neville believes that Arsenal could lift the Champions League in the next couple of years.
The Gunners thrashed north London rivals Tottenham 4-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday to move six points clear at the top of the Premier League.
Neville, the former Manchester United right-back, predicted previously that Mikel Arteta’s side would go on and win the top-flight title, ending what would be a drought of 23 years since their most recent triumph in 2003.
Now, however, the Sky Sports pundit thinks that the north Londoners could go and become European champions as well as kings of England.
“It’s not only a squad that should go on and win the Premier League,” Neville explained on the Gary Neville podcast.
“I’m not jumping ahead of myself here. It’s a squad that I can see winning the Champions League in the next two or three years.
“It might not be this season, because sometimes when you go to win your first Premier League, you become so consumed by that and you can get done in a European game in a two-legged tie.
“They’re getting to that level of performance, resilience, stability, and consistency. You have to be consistent. It’s a very consistent and performing team.”
Arsenal are second in the Champions League table, level on points with Bayern Munich after four games.
They face the Bundesliga outfit in midweek to start another tricky seven days for them, and they take on Chelsea at the weekend.
