Gunners will not rest of their laurels after winning the Premier League title, with Eli Junior Kroupi also of interest

It is set to be an incredibly busy summer at Arsenal as the club look to make Mikel Arteta's words a reality.

Speaking immediately after the Champions League final defeat, Arteta demanded that the necessary steps were taken this summer to elevate Arsenal further.

"We'll start to make some very important decisions if we want to reach another level," Arteta said.

"And we're going to have to show that ambition because we are more than capable of doing it, but it's going to demand us to be very ambitious, very fast and very smart."

Discussions continue over a new contract for Arteta himself, with his existing deal set to expire at the end of next season.

The club are unsurprisingly desperate for the Spaniard to remain in the Arsenal dugout and Arteta will be offered a big pay rise.

What will be just as important to Arteta, though, is how the club act in the transfer window to kick on from their Premier League success.

Morgan Rogers, a player Arteta hugely admires, is on Arsenal's wishlist and there is a growing sense that the Englishman could be on the move this summer.

The 23-year-old still has five years left on his contract at Aston Villa, who do not want to sell but face making a painful decision in order to comply with financial regulations.

Arsenal's current record transfer fee is the £105m spent on Declan Rice and it could take a figure of around that mark to land Rogers.

Arteta is keen to again strengthen his squad with Premier League-proven players, having done so with the likes of Rice, Eberechi Eze and Kai Havertz in recent seasons.

Rogers is viewed as an ideal profile by Arteta and those inside the club

Rogers is viewed as an ideal profile by Arteta and those inside the club. He has the versatility to play centrally and on the left, and has the physical attributes to meet the demands of playing for a team competing on four fronts.

Signing a left winger is one of Arsenal's top priorities this summer. Gabriel Martinelli scored only one Premier League goal this season, while Leandro Trossard went 25 games without scoring in the middle of the campaign.

There are doubts over the futures of both players and Arsenal are keen to refresh their options on that wing.

The 19-year-old scored 13 goals in his first Premier League season, having joined Bournemouth for £10m from Lorient.

The Cherries are expecting significant interest in Kroupi but the club's current stance is that the teenager is not for sale.

Bournemouth's position has been strengthened by securing European football and club insiders believe that Kroupi would benefit from another season with them.

It is understood that a bid of close to £100million would likely be required to test Bournemouth's resolve.

Despite the interest in Kroupi and Rogers, Arsenal are not expected to spend on the same level as they did last summer.

More than £250m was splashed in that window and very little was brought in through sales. That is set to change this time, with a busier window on the cards in terms of outgoings.

There is an expectation that Gabriel Jesus will leave Arsenal. The Brazilian has just 12 months remaining on his current contract and there are no plans for talks over a new deal.

However, there is also no intention from Arsenal to let Jesus leave on the cheap. After winning the Premier League, the view from those inside the club is that Arsenal are negotiating from a real position of strength and should be able to do better with player sales than in recent years.

The Gunners want a fee in the region of £20m for Jesus, and several clubs have registered their interest in the Brazilian.

If Arsenal do not get their asking price matched, they will keep Jesus and let him leave for free next summer.

Christian Norgaard failed to win Arteta's trust this season and could be on the move, with Arsenal eyeing other midfield options. If the right bid came in for Ethan Nwaneri, Arsenal would seriously consider it.

Selling Nwaneri would represent pure profit, a phrase Myles Lewis-Skelly used as a caption to an Instagram post of him with the Premier League trophy.

Lewis-Skelly was one of those potentially heading for the Arsenal exit door this summer, but his superb performances in midfield in the final month of the campaign have changed the thinking.

Talks are ongoing between Arsenal and Hamburg over Fabio Vieira's future. The 26-year-old spent this season on loan in Germany and it is believed he would be keen to stay there.

However, Hamburg are unwilling to pay the €22m (£19m) option included in that deal and are hoping to negotiate a fee closer to €10m (£8.6m).

There are no plans for Vieira to be brought back into the Arsenal first-team and it is viewed as inevitable that a significant loss will be made on the fee of around £35m paid for him in 2022.
