Rodrygo Goes started for Real Madrid in Xabi Alonso’s first game as the club’s new manager but was dropped from the starting lineup in just the second game as the coach opted for a change in formation.

The first two games in themselves, thus, have provided a reasonable idea of the volatility of Rodrygo’s importance at the club and leave a strong case for him to consider a departure.

With Real Madrid looking to raise funds for a new midfielder, selling Rodrygo opens up an avenue to generate the required revenue especially given his market value. After all, Arsenal are seriously interested in his signing.

Arsenal prepared to wait

As relayed in a recent report by Mario Cortegana, Arsenal are ready to wait and see if Rodrygo openly accepts a departure from Real Madrid this summer and if Los Blancos will indeed be willing to negotiate his exit.

Their interest in the player is genuine and Mikel Arteta sees him to be a key addition to his lineup should the deal go through. All that matters is the player’s stance and Real Madrid’s willingness to part with him.

The report further adds that Rodrygo’s father and agent received multiple offers from the Premier League for his son through intermediaries. However, he rejected all of them given his son’s desire to stay in Madrid.

But things could change in the coming weeks if Rodrygo’s role in Alonso’s plans is not prominent enough.

As such, Arsenal are prepared to wait to see if the Brazilian’s situation changes, with the Gunners prepared to offer him his preferred role on the left wing in their team.

As far as Real Madrid are concerned, they have not put Rodrygo up for sale but will demand around €90 million if the Brazilian star asks to leave.
